Our stadia expertise kick-off
Ballymore Stadium's Eastern Stand (now Bank of Queensland Stand) constructed by Watpac was officially opened on 21 June 1992, increasing the venue's capacity from 18,000 to 24,000. This project was the company's first foray into stadium development and since these early days, we've played a vital role in revolutionising stadium design and construction methods.
Today, we’re building the Te Kaha/Canterbury Multi-Use Arena (CMUA) stadium in Christchurch. With a minimum seating capacity of 25,000, Te Kaha is a new breed of flexible stadium venue. It has the potential to add further seating (the completed arena will have a seating capacity of 30,000), a fixed rectangular turf, high-quality acoustics and a roof so it can host a variety of events year-round.
