Team work makes the dream work
On Monday, June 20, 1994, the Lang Park Grandstand was opened to spectators for the first time. The $25million development took around-the-clock dedication from the Watpac team to complete in just six months. This project was the start of our long partnership with Stadiums Queensland and the prelude to Lang Park becoming the renowned venue it is today – Suncorp Stadium. The following year (1995), Watpac was awarded the Northern Grandstand redevelopment at the Brisbane Cricket Ground, better known as “The Gabba”, and started another stadium partnership that has lasted more than a decade.
Today, BESIX Watpac continues to build iconic, landmark stadiums for generations to enjoy.
